This has been a week......the weather, cold, warm, misty, rainy. But hopefully things will be looking up!!!
I was hoping to go to NE this weekend for Nikki's bridal shower but something came up, and we don't need to discuss what.....So Gen and I stayed here and rested...........
I'm going to play golf tomorrow, come hell or high water!!!!!! Tonight we are going to the Residents' Hall with hopes of playing Pitch! Alot of people have called, but alot don't know how to play, so it will be a learning experience.
Gotta get things going down here, liven things up a little!!! Can't play golf everyday!!!! Hope you all have a great weekend......Miss you all!!!!

Monday Madness!!!
Hi everyone!! What a weekend, cold and not sunny at all....so today, Genaker and I got up early and headed out for our walk......it was brisk, to say the least.....We start out along the Intracoastal Waterway, haven't seen anymore boats heading south lately, then we head up to the 16th hole. This runs into the 17th and up a big hill along a very empty field and along the ICW. Then we hit the 18th hole which is long and wide, and more sand then you can imagine......fairway traps everywhere. This is a nice quiet walk, I can usually let Gen run free if its early enough. No golfers yet! Then we head out into a tunnel, it leads under the street, which you get alot of here...come out the otherside and up onto the street. This will bring us back to the front gate at Edgewater. Next time we walk, tomorrow morning, I will video tape it for you, just so you can see the scenery.....
Now, we are off to the driving range, Gen likes to sit in the cart and watch.....I have to tie her though, she jumps out and runs everywhere.
Have a great week everyone!!!!

1st African American President
Well, on January 20th the 1st African American President is anugarated at 12:05 pm. This is history in the making.....Barack H. Obama, First Lady, Michelle Obama.
Good luck and god bless!!!! This world is in a mess!!! Bush left us at war, in Iraq and Gaza. He left our economy in the toilet - unemployment the worst ever AND what about that stock market.....actually, I'm trying to think of what he did right....oh yea, got on a plane to Texas. Goodbye George!!!!
Anyway, it was a day of celebration for the USA......1.2 million people stood on the nation's mall and watched Obama get sworn it. Then the parade, all the balls......what a day, night - if you didn't get a chance to watch and follow it all, you missed out. It was one day I want to remember, a day of hope, change and dreams. (especially for one man)
So I leave with this little message, may the USA move forward, forget the past mistakes, and hope change can bring us together again, as a prosperous nation. Watching the people of the nation stand together and eyes fill with happiness was just an incredible feeling. So much HOPE and so much on the shoulders of one man and a new administration.......It can be done!!!!! and I believe Barack is the one to do it!!!!!

MLK Weekend!!
So, it has not been a great weekend weather wise......Carol D. arrived on Saturday and it was freezing, Bill got in on Saturday evening so we went out to dinner at California Dreaming....very nice restaurant.
Sunday morning, I cooked breakfast for everyone, and then I had to bring Bill back to the airport, he has training in New Orleans till Wednesday morning. This will hopefully give Carol D and myself some time to golf, should the weather cooperate.
Sunday afternoon, D and I traveled around MB so I could show her some of the sights, then we came home and I cooked a nice dinner......tomorrow we will golf, because today it poured.
Monday morning turned out beautiful, we grabbed our clubs jumped into the golf cart and headed to the course for a quick 18 before the basketball game.....what a day, I only lost one ball, thank god.......but we did laugh alot.......
Now we journey off to NC to the University of NC to watch the TarHeels play the Huskies. This will be a great game....
After 3 hrs. of driving, waiting in traffic on campus, we finally arrive to UNC.....what a place, I loved it.......boy these kids have it made these days.....
Here is a copy of my ticket, and a pic of inside the arena.....not a sellout crowd like UConn would have, but good enough......and LOTS of UCONN fans were there.
Final Score: UCONN 88 - UNC 58 WE crushed them, #1 in the nation and headed to ST. Louis.....
On Monday, it snowed and rained ice, what the heck, Carol D. must of brought the bad weather from up north with her.....but it didn't dampen our spirits. We went to the club for breakfast and bloody mary's - then sat at the bar and watched our new president get inaugarated. GO OBAMA!!! What a beautiful celebration.......
later D and I did the Jillian Michaels workout, 30 lbs in 30 days, so now I can't move my arms or legs, this oughta really help my golf game.
Well, gotta go, have a great week everyone!!!

WOW!!!! Cold?
I thought I left the cold, frigid north!!! Guess not, from what they are telling us its going to be 20 degrees down here this weekend, which rots because Carol D. is coming and we were gonna golf.....But, of course there are alot of other things we can do, like UCONN basketball on Monday.....can't wait....back to the cold, now I haven't missed a day of walking around the resort with Gen, and I'm getting good, I can jog almost 1/2 of the way, this is good because I will be participating in the 4 Kay Run when I go to St. Louis for the NCAA tournament. It is in honor of Kay Yow, the coach of NC State Women's Basketball, who is battling breast cancer, the second time around. They started this a few years ago and it has raised millions of dollars...
So, I need to keep practicing my running and Gen is so much better than when she was a puppy.
Today, Jan Santos (one of my friends from Allendale) called me. She and her husband are renting a condo in Little River for 2 months this winter and we hope to get together for golf and supper. Can't wait....
Back to the cold, yuck, I can't believe it. Tomorrow I have an endurance clinic at the clubhouse which I think will be very interesting....Can't wait to go.......Talk soon everyone.....

Looking forward to the Weekend!!!
Hi all,
Well, thanks so much to Erika, she helped me find my lost article that I wrote and placed it where it belongs, don't know what the heck I did...I so really appreciate it........
Today, I am meeting with some of the residents about starting a pitch league, wow, mom hold on, I just thought this would be so much fun.....32 people are interested!!! HELP
Anyway, after that, this weekend will be very exciting, except for the fact Bill hasn't made it home yet. Carol D is coming for the long weekend and we are going to watch UCONN play at Chapel Hill. YES, they are playing the TAR HEELS, one of the biggest games this year, Bill bought us the tickets on New Years Day. We can't wait, especially me, I haven't seen Uconn all year, I really miss the games....we are ranked #1, NC, ranked #2......let the games begin.....and we will play golf on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.......anyway, hope you are all surviving the horrible weather up North, I feel for all of you.....NOT......
Talk soon.....I will put pics on the blog when I get back....GO UCONN!!!!

Rainy Tuesday
Today is the first rainy day we have seen in a while, I'm sure its much better than what people are seeing out west and up north!!!!
Believe me, I thank god everyday I am in the warm country.......BUT, what did Gen and I do today.....we did the gym thing again and the walk, with an umbrella, god forbid the Diva get all wet. Although, she did want to go out and chase her frisbee today, so I dressed up in my rain gear (for golf) and decided to venture out!!!! WOW, was it raining, but, she chased the frisbee over and over again, she even fell into a sand trap, which really was pretty funny.......that's what happens when you don't look where you are going.......
Tonight I have a meeting with some of the residents at Barefoot about setting up a welcoming committee. I'm gonna pick up some refreshments and head to the residents hall so we'll talk tomorrow..........

Monday Madness
Good morning All!!!
Today I started working out again, and boy, it doesn't take long to get out of shape.....Genaker and I begin everyday walking around the resort for 30 minutes. I bring her home, let her eat and sleep, then head to the gym......and its free, let me tell you, NEVER join a gym if you don't have too. Its nice just getting up and going to the gym here at Edgewater, trying to figure out some of the equipment is the exciting part, its easier if a trainer can show you but I don't have that option.
Anyway, after an hour or so of working out, I stepped outside to the hot tub, at first its a shocker but once you're in, its great.....
Bill isn't home yet, but is headed to Maine, he has a barge full of heating fuel, so it could be a while. He did mention he was finally catching up with his sleep after our excursion to Florida.
So, now, Gen and I are headed to Walmart, I need to pick up a few things to store my hats in. I never realized how many hats I had until I unpacked them and needed a place to put them all. I could open my own store.....ha ha.
Have a great night everyone, talk later.

Sunday, relaxin' away!!
Today, after finally getting some rest, Gen and I ventured out to the beach, my arm is killing me from holding her on the golf cart.....she is fine until she sees someone she would like to chase or jump on......otherwise, she sits very proud and very pretty.
The beach is a place at this time of year that has only the runners, or wanna be runners along with some children who really believe they can swim or build a sand castle.
People watching is my favorite thing to do......I wonder where they are coming from or where they may be going too.....The sky is cloudy but it is very warm and wind is not bad.....
Gen gets most of her enjoyment running in the ocean and catching things. I could throw all day and she would never show me she is tired. They say, "Labs never have a bad day". She actually took a couple of days to recover from her trip in the truck to Okeechobee, especially since she never got to see anyone and returned home quickly, to her surprise.
Well, that's it for today, Sunday ends and Monday begins.........Hope you people aren't snowed in up there yet!!!!!

Okeechobee here we come!! NOT!
Bill and I left at 8:00 am on Friday morning to head to his mom's in Okeechobee, FL, first we had to stop at Spirt, it seems, she has been sitting on the bottom at the marina come low tide, not good.....well, there isn't much we can do at the moment, we may try to move her to a deeper slip, should there be one.
Anyway, at 7:30PM last night, 40 miles prior to arriving at Dot & Herve's Bill gets the dreaded call: can you come in ASAP to move a tug boat which may have been in an accident, from Norfolk to NY....You all know Bill, a challenge, SURE, what, the Coast Guard is involved, OH, this can't be good. So we call mom, send our apologies, take a good look at GEN, the dog that has been everywhere, and head back 10 hours....this is a nightmare.....
AT 4:30am SAT, we land at the back roads, Rte. 378, SC.....what a trip, I have never seen so many Deer, Ray would love it, grey foxes, rabbits, cows and horses, the roads were filled with everything. Of course, this helped me stay awake and guide Bill along the way....WOW, Gen just wanted to go to sleep but couldn't resist watching out the window for the next animal to appear. Anyway, I am home trying to rest and Bill is on his way to Baltimore. Apparently, both the Captain and Mate were removed by the CG, this can't be good, Bill and another guy named Tom will be relieving them......He should be returning on Wed. only to leave for New Orleans on Sunday for yearly training, boy do I lead a dull life these days. Guess what, GOING GOLFING....
Love to you all.......

January 2009
A new year arrives.....thank god......2008 was OK, most of my dreams came true, with the exception of some things, well, one anyway......Bill was home for the first NYE in 14 years. You see, Jan. 1 was always opening day in the Bering Sea for fishing......the boats would all rush out and come midnight drop their hooks. But, not this year, he rushed home to be here and celebrate with me. We went to a great party at the residents club and met some great people......but come midnight, we were tired, headed out and woke up to go golfing the next day......which was just wonderful.
We have spent the first few weeks of January cleaning the boat, Spirit, and getting her emptied off so she can go alittle faster.......I can't believe the stuff I fit on board her this summer. See, it can be done, you just have to know how to pack.......
Tomorrow Bill and I, along with Genaker will head to Florida to see Dot & Herve. They have invited us down for a few days.....where we plan on relaxing and playing a little golf......so we'll catch up with you all when we get back......have a great weekend......

December 2008
So, Bill has to work on Christmas, I decide, Gen and I should go up North....Well, some of the best laid ideas aren't always the greatest, but I made the best of it. Thanks to Steve and Pat - all turned out well. Gen and I spent Christmas with mom, Josh & Cathy. Unfortunately, mom was in the hospital for 8 days with a severe blood clot. Yuck, I'd put the pic on the blog, but she would kill me.....
The greatest thing was I got to spend alot of time with Nate, Erika and Maddox. We had some great chats each night, (Nate made me some delicious breakfasts) and they both are headed to Texas, come May. What an adventure they have ahead of themselves. Nate will be graduating as a doctor in May. I really enjoyed the time I had with them, Maddox is a clip. Of course, while in NE, there was more SNOW then I would like to talk about, don't miss it. Nate and I got to walk our dogs every night over at Seekonk high school and just let them run off all their energy.
Steve isn't a lover of dogs, so we tried to stay out of his way. (which is differcult w/2 84 lb. animals hanging around)
Matt and Jenn's girls are getting so big it's amazing how time flies. I was able to visit alittle with them on Christmas eve. Happy new year everyone!!!!
Mom, I, Josh & Cathy enjoyed a great turkey dinner and desserts and then opened presents......of course I spoiled them as usual. Hey, what are kids for......it wasn't a traditional family Christmas and Bill and I have decided we will start a New Tradition - Christmas in MB.....where my kids and their families, my mom (and anyone interested) can come and feel welcomed........Isn't that what Christmas is about!!! FAMILY
Later in the month, I took my EMT re-certification exam and headed back to MB with Carol D. following us........(Gen and Me) we had a great time.......When we arrived it was time to pick up Bill at the airport and get ready for some golf on New Year's Eve.......then New Year's Day......wow, can't remember ever doing that before.
Carol gave me UCONN stickers for Christmas so we decorated my golf cart so as to fit in with all the other residents and their college mascots.......unfortunately this if TarHeel country.....so I must be careful where I travel to. In SC carts are allowed on the roads and I travel everywhere with it, the beach, market, drug store and to the Marina, of course, the golf course.....its not allowed on the course though. I'll include it in a pic.
Now come's our first NYE party at the residents hall.....good food, friends and music.......we all hope it will be a tradition..the pool looked great......Happy 2009 Everyone!!!!!

November - 1st month in MB
Hi All,
Well, we've been here just a few weeks, Josh and Cathy will be coming down and bringing us our truck. I can't wait to play golf with Josh and show him the courses, I know Cathy will enjoy the shopping. Then we'll do the beach, Margarittaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise. they will leave after about a week via airplane.
Now its time to drive the car out west to the kids. We are planning on being there for Thanksgiving and to enjoy and see our new Granddaughter........Larson also turned 2 years old on October 25th, Marion Mae was born on November 7th........Bill, Genaker and I will travel 3 days to San Diego, via Route 20, southern route. I just can't explain what a trip this will be. Dad and Mom tell me we traveled across country when we were young, but, don't remember. I just remember Dad telling me I stood behind him all the way, asking, Are we there yet? Hey, I was 3........
Anyway, here are some pics for you to see as we traveled along the way....Enjoy, talk soon.

Landing in Myrtle Beach!!!!
Well, we left on the 10th of October, and finally landed on December 6th, with a 3 week rest period in between.
Arrival seemed almost impossible, but finally happened......4 days of bad wind really held us back, but it may not be any better when we return.
We had to leave Spirit in Beaufort, NC at a beautiful Marina for 3 wks. while Bill returned to work. The trip to MB was a memorable one for me, I learned so much about the boat, about sailing, about the different cities along the way, and about Bill and myself. I certainly can survive without all the amenities some of us live with everyday....It really is nice just sitting around in the evening, talking to my husband, listening to the ocean and watching some of the greatest sunrises and sunsets ever!!! AND, lets not forget those dolphins!!!!!
I hope this Blog will help document our journey and safe return to New England in late April for everyone to follow along. Thanks Erika for your help with it!!!
