Dinner at Beef O'Brady's

Tonight we had dinner at a very Irish restaurant, NO, yes.....it was pretty good.....as we were leaving I noticed this very short motorcycle and just had to try it out.....Bill had to take a picture, then for my son Josh's sake we drove by the pool and saw a golf cart with a Montreal Canadians flag on it, along with a Quebec flag, as Bill put it, FROGS!!!!!!
So, tonight we'll just sit and play cards, relax, and then tomorrow just take in some of the sun and we'll leave tomorrow to head back home. Love to you all.....

NEW FAMILY MEMBER!!! CHOBEE......

We celebrated 2 things today.....our arrival on the boat to Myrtle Beach, (Dot and Herve) brought us a bottle of Champagne for our arrival, which they brought to MB with hopes of meeting us, and the purchase of our new truck.......It was sad saying goodbye to the Dakota, but her time with us was up and while visiting Mom & Herve we found a beauty!!!!!!
After all, we had her for 9 years and she owed us nothing, and had 115, 823 miles......today we pick it up and turn in the Dakota......
Later, we'll sit by the pool, go to the flea market, cuz we love it and then maybe take a ride, Chobee only had 4 miles on her......
Its 75' in the shade right now with the temp rising, so its so beautiful out and great weather......
Later, when we pick up the truck, all shiny and clean, I'll take a pic and post it on the website.
Take care......talk later.....

OKEECHOBEE - WE FINALLY MADE IT!!!!

Looking down the street......
3721 SE 3rd Terrace Okeechobee, Florida Mom & Herve's house

Last night we arrived in Okeechobee, Florida and it was 70' and getting warmer...Today we are just relaxing and enjoying visiting with Mom and Herve. They look great and we celebrated last night by drinking a whole bottle of wine.......ouch....it hurt this morning.....
BUT, Genaker is again off and traveling.....she is very well adjusted though, settles right in.
I thought today would be nice to just sit by the pool and enjoy the HOT weather....the sun is very bright, and we will go check out the flea market and thrift store, Herve's favorite things.

GENAKER says Goodbye

I think it was harder for Genaker to say goodbye to the girls than Bill & I. She had so much fun playing with them and having the company around...... look at her hanging her head, she didn't want to hear it, the dog is practically human.....
We dropped the girls off at the airport, only to find out their flight will be delayed until 10:30pm. That Northeast just won't give you a break.....the weather....so unpredictable. They were delayed arriving also, Megan insists its because of her...she brings bad luck....

So, now, we are back to a very quiet condo (I loved having noise and voices around)(you don't realize how much you miss it) and we will be heading to Florida tomorrow to visit Dot and Herve.

Safe trip girls and your parents should be very thankful for each of you. Love and kisses....

Winding Down!!!!! :(

Well,
today is the last day the girls are here.....we had a great time and ended it with a great breakfast, and some miniature golf at Professor Hakkers Lost Treasure Golf.
The round of golf went very well, with, Auntie Carol winning with a 40, Megan with a 44, Andrea 48 and Jill 52, she was in the lead with 4 holes in one, BUT had five double bogey's in a row.
Tonight for dinner, I'm making a great salad, Grilled Shrimp with Mango Salsa & Rice with a Brownie Hot Fudge Sundae for dessert.
Then we'll take the girls to the airport for 8:30 PM and get them signed in and hang out for awhile. It was great having them here to visit. Bill and I will both miss them alot.....
Love to you all.....

Dress Up Night

Tonight we all dressed up and drove across the ICW to the Australian Grill for a great dinner......the girls looked gorgeous.....
The meal started with Bill ordering Seafood Spring Rolls for an appetizer..and everyone tried one....they are great with a little wasubi and dipping sauce, everyone enjoyed them.....Shrimp, Prime Rib and Ahi Tuna were the meals and dessert consisted of Chocolate Souffele and Creme Brulee, these girls know how to eat, OH to be tiny again.......
Later we took pictures on the back deck overlooking the ICW towards the marina where Bill & I keep Spirit.
Then I took a picture of the girls and Bill outside the restaurant near the tiki lamps.....We all enjoyed ourselves and had a great night......

SAILING DAY!!!! NOT.....

Learning how to row was a very interesting
experience.....
direction was definitely an issue!!!

Well, our intentions were very good.....we packed a great lunch, headed to the boat early for a sail and bang.....couldn't get out, we were aground......after endless tries, Bill decided we couldn't make it until high tide, which didn't come until 7:00 pm tonight.....this was not good....
But, the girls and I found other things to entertain ourselves.......they learned how to row in the dingy.....this was a great learning experience.....Bill got them in and said...they'll figure it out, well, sorry to say only Megan figured it out....AND Genaker decided watching from the dock just wasn't good enough, she had to be with the girls, SO she jumped into the water, luckily had her life jacket on, thinking the girls would take her aboard, NOT!!!!! So Gen headed back to the doc and Bill grabbed the handle on her life jacket and pulled her up....Pretty funny.
Next, we rested on the bow with hopes of a suntan, then later went down below to munch and play a little cards......Megan and Andrea always have a little something up their sleeves.....Jill and I are catching on very fast....ha ha CHEATERS
Tonight we are headed for dress-up and dinner at Greg Norman's Austrailian Grill......see you all later.....

Shopping, Hanging at the Beach, Dixie Stampede!!

Our day started out at Barefoot Landing shopping and posing..........
and posing some more..........

Then, they had to try alittle bit of everything on..........

Then they posed alittle more after searching for shells on the beach.....what a clear day!!!!

Then we arrived at the Stampede Dinner Attraction.......

These were a few of the horses and stunt riders.........

Then we posed again outside Dolly Parton's building.......

This was the MC for the evening.......
While watching the show, we enjoyed a great meal, which you must eat with your fingers, hands or whatever, no silverware is available. The meal consists of a Biscuit, Soup in a small crockpot, Cornish Hen, (whole as Andrea specifies) slice of pork, potato, corn on the cob and all you can drink. After dinner, dessert is an Apple Turnover with frosting and a nice warm wet nap.......to clean up after yourselves.....
Everyone enjoyed the evening and ate everything......... tomorrow we will spend the day on Spirit and travel up the ICW to Little River.......Talk to you later.....

"A Dinner to Die For!!!!"

$35 all you can eat!!!! This is a buffet you would never believe.....they bring all different kinds of meats to your table on the longest skewers I have ever seen.......Megan was very happy to eat sushi and Salmon with a little chicken on the side, ha ha......Andrea on the other hand, a huge meat and potato girl.......Jill tried a little of everything I think, Bill and I, well, I brought my appetite because I couldn't believe the salad bar, NOT just salad, everything from cheese & crackers, sushi, asparagus, artichoke hearts with cheese, broccoli alfredo, Megan was in heaven as well as myself. Then the meat just keeps coming, and coming.....and coming till you turn over the dial on your table that reads "No".....and dessert, we won't even discuss, creme brulee, cheesecake of every kind. Mousse, turtle, key lime pie.....etc......delicious.......BUT you can't eat for a week prior to going.......
Later, we headed home with a stop at "Hooters" because the girls needed to have a tee-shirt.....Aunty Carol waited in the car while Uncle Bill took the girls into the shop......very interesting experience I'm sure, of course, permission from parents came first......
Today we will go shopping, play some miniture golf, go to the beach and then the Dixie Stampede tonight. Talk to you all later......

Another spare missed!!!!

Megan getting a gutter ball!!!!

Girls Arrive In MB!!!!!

Yeah!!!! Megan, Andrea and Jill arrived today.....what a thrill having them in town. There's alot to be said about having girls around......so different then boys, especially these girls.....they are a gift from god......Fun loving, and so willing to learn about everything......today, we visited the Ripley's Aquarium....what a place, we saw fish and marsupials of all kinds. Andrea definitely has a fetish for StingRays....they got to pet them in their environment and hold some pretty big horseshoe crabs....what a riot, Megan decided it moved too quickly so she just dropped it back in. The tail on the horseshoe crab works just like a rudder so when they end upside down, that's how it can right itself.....
After returning from the aquarium I took the girls for a ride on the fancy, big tires, UCONN golf cart, the 3 girls rode in the back seat, Gen and I in the front. We rode along the ICW up 17 & 18 of the Norman Course..then to the marina to see Navigator Bill (as Andrea calls him) As we drove around the girls threw Gen the Frisbee and made her run along side us.....
Then after a great dinner, salmon and chicken, love that they all ate a little of everything, we all decided to play Wii (a very interactive video game) no matter what Carol D. says......Bowling, I was the winner with a 202, and a 159, Megan and Andrea haven't quite gotten the bowling down, they both have a curve ball they can't control, although Meg and I really got a good laugh while trying to play tennis....(pics to follow)
Genaker was so happy to see them. She was surprised to see them I think, looking at them trying to figure out how they got here.
Today the girls will sit by the pool, Meg isn't dark enough, the hot tub and later we'll go by the beach so they can see how clean the sand is and the water. Andrea wants to go ParaSailing, (don't worry Peter B. we can't afford that) but we can watch all the others do it......Might ask Bill to take us out to eat tonight, we'll see.
So, enjoy the pics and we'll catch up later......

DAYTONA WEEKEND!!!

Hey all, well today is the Daytona 500....that's when everyone sits around an watches cars go around in a big circle 500 times???? Like watching paint dry.....oh well, its a little cool today, so I won't be golfing.....but I probably will be watching the Daytona 500 cuz Bill will be.....so much for getting the boat ready to come out of the water......we started sanding and doing things on Friday BUT we just keep getting off track, the weather was just too nice......
Anyway, then we went grocery shopping, cuz Andrea and Megan will be heading here on Wednesday, so I had to stock up......WOW we spent alot of money......
Hopefully the Daytona will complete today, its suppose to rain so they may cancel until tomorrow.......two days, I won't be able to take it, although I do have a big golf match tomorrow.....
Enjoy the race if you're watching.....if not....stay WARM.....

THURSDAY!!!

Hey all.....how's it going? Today Bill arrived in MB after being gone for 4 weeks. So, after a quick shower and a visit with Gen we're going out to eat and then to the beach to let the dog run and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
There are only 6 more days until Megan and Andrea arrive, and I'm quickly putting together a schedule so they can see as much as possible. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. BUT, I did put in a order for great sunshine and heat........The golf courses are starting to green up in the rough area, (which in the winter) remains very brown......fairways and greens - THEY ARE GREEN!! Its different to see, hitting out of it isn't always that easy either......I sometimes remind myself of my dad = shank city-- he use to hate to shank the ball....
Tomorrow and Saturday may rain, so we'll just enjoy today why we can....See you later......

WEARY WEDNESDAY

Today is definitely a rest day from golf, but boy is it beautiful out.....the sun is shining and Gen and I had a great walk.......Bill will not be returning today, tomorrow at 11:30 am......I will rest from golf and just hang out and do, oh, maybe alittle unpacking.....YUCK!! I can't stand looking at boxes for some reason......I packed every ounce of my home and I'm worn out I think.
I will go to the pool today and just sit by it and relax.......Gen will have to stay home......hope to talk soon....

1st Member Member

Hi All, today I played in my first member member tournament....with 3 men. He is married to a women who is from Iran......she worked for IBM he was an investment banker, they lived all over the world.....Roger, was from Brockton, MA he worked at BU Medical.....very nice, and very impressed with my game.....I have to admit, I was pretty impressed myself.....I hit the ball a ton! I have finally found my nitche and am very happy in Myrtle Beach......I have actually considered this to be my last summer to come home.....I will miss Josh and my friends but, what do I have back in Mass. UNDER 90 FINALLY!!!!

Hi everyone!!!! Well, I finially did it, shot under 90 on the Love Course.....I'm telling you, its been a long journey. These courses have so many sand traps its like living in the desert.....BUT the warm weather got here and I trully believe that helped.....today I played with Candy, Terry and a lady named Ursulla.....very nice, they struggled alittle on the front but Terry came through on the back 9..... I really found a great bunch of women to play with down here.....for which I am very thankfulll.....
Then, I come home only to find out Josh and Cathy got Bill and I tickets to see Jimmy Buffet in June ( hope we make it home on the boat by then, ha ha) ......how wonderful is life--- right now, its pretty wonderful......so, now, I'm gonna settle down for a nice quiet evening, last night I played cards and had a great time.....I'm sorry that Bill is freezing right now, but soon he'll be home all nice and snug like a bug in a rug.....Stay warm, talk later......

FINALLY FRIDAY!!!

Good morning everyone,
Well the sun is shining and Gen and I just returned from our walk. Very vigorous.....in fact, we can do our walk in 35 minutes now.......this weekend the temperatures will be rising - 67 to 70's. YEAH!
Tonight is card night, so I'll be heading up to the club....Tomorrow I have a tee time with the ladies at 10:04. We have not played golf for 2 full days due to cold conditions......
Sunday Sue Z. and I will play at 10:14......they have a thing with the odd times, not sure why......
Things are looking up weather wise and I think by the time my nieces arrive, the pool will maybe be warm......if not, there is always the hot tub.......
So, stay warm up north, enjoy the weekend and talk soon. Love to you all!!

UCONN wins 75-56

And so the saga continues, Uconn, undeafed and still going. Tonights game was certainly proof we have all the guns, except Tina, not sure where she was, but Megan came through for us.....This is a team that reminds me of the 2002 team, everyone in the right place at the right time.
Not many games left in the regular season, then the BIG EAST, and the beginning of the NCAA playoffs.
This year the ladies go to St. Louis, MO.....can't wait. For the first time we will be staying right in the center of things, at the Sheraton, downtown.......
So, with a few more games left, the playoffs will be starting and then we will have our work cut out for us....
Tomorrow Barbara Messier and her sister Jan will be stopping by to see my place and then we'll have a few drinks and go out to eat.....Talk to you all tomorrow......

Lucky Lads!!!!

Well, Pittsburg pulled it off......lucky them.....I thought the Cardinals had it, yeah Fitzgerald.....what a come back, but, Steelers take it away......
So NOW, GO SOX.......

SuperBowl Sunday!!!! 2009

What a beautiful day in MB!!! Finally.....and I'm sure it will be beautiful in Tampa Bay, love it there, friends and I went to the NCAA there 1 year ago....
TODAY, its the Steelers VS Cardinals - although I don't have a favorite, I will vote for the underdog....Go Cardinals, see, the Steelers have won it before......
Everyone gathers today for drinks, snacks and just plain getting together and talking football to death......I personnally love the superbowl.....it reminds me of when my boys were young and we gathered around the television and cheered, ate, and plain pigged out with all our friends and sometimes family......
This year it will be different for me, I have returned from the beach and will relax most of the day and watch the game alone, well, Gen will be here. The only time she responds is when I scream or yell if someone does something stupid.
I have been invited to the local Sports Bar by Sue, whom Gen and I met this morning while walking our dogs.....they ran, we power walked.
BUT, not knowing many people at the bar, I'd rather play it safe and stay home.......
SO, enjoy the game, don't eat too much, or drink, and
GO CARDINALS!!!!!!
