DAY 5 - Happy Mother's Day

This is the Alligator River Bridge opening for a Parade of Sailboats......we were last in line.......tonight we will make it to Coinjock, NC which is 50 miles south of Norfolk, then we'll be headed to Solomon's Island, we're coming Gen, Jan and Ray. Can't wait to see you all......Night all, talk tomorrow.

See this boat, its from Marion, Ma. and the Capt. called us on VHF to tell us he knew Spirit's 1st owner, he raced against him, AND said he never won......they did the Marion to Bermuda race...

The Maryland burgee, this is up so when we arrive at Solomon's Island, it shows respect to the state, Jan sent us this after we arrived in South Carolina..........

They have the largest turkey vultures down here, there are 2 in a nest w/babies.....

Pungo River Bridge......eery isn't it......no one around......except us sailors that is....

Wow what a day.....we made such good time and traveled alot of miles, over 80, that is great.

Happy Mother's Day all, to my friends and family members who are mom's.....remember how special we are.....especially to My mom, who is the best and has taught me so much and help me through many stages of my life.......I love you MOM.....enjoy the day.......

We hoisted the anchor at 6:10 AM, and we have over 80 miles today to get to Norfolk, so we'll be busy....not sure about cell service, its been very limited, but the WiFi seems to work once in a while......as we get closer up North it should and will improve.
